One of the most beautiful aspects of natural stone is its history. Every granite slab and marble countertop has its own story to tell; its thousands of years in the Earth are rendered in every delicate vein and fissure.
Perhaps that’s one of the reasons we value our own company history, and believe that our decades of involvement in the industry make us what we are today.
In 2016, founder of Stone Interiors G.K. Naquin was the recipient of one of the most prestigious titles in the stone industry: the Migliore Award for Lifetime Achievement. Award recipients are chosen each year by a panel that includes Natural Stone Institute (NSI, formerly the Marble Institute of America) Board of Directors and former presidents. Those who earn the Migliori Award have demonstrated a career of notable achievements within the stone industry, among other standards.
GK began his career in 1974, and has grown Stone Interiors ever since. Throughout G.K.’s career, he has not only opened 3 showrooms in as many states, but has also served as the president of the NSI. He has always been dedicated to moving the practice of stone fabrication forward in terms of industry-wide education and standards.
Now, the 3 distinct owners in each Stone Interiors location continue to work closely with each other and with G.K. to improve their own organization, as well as the industry as a whole. Stone Interiors conducts internal department trainings on a regular basis, and continues to attend industry conferences and expositions every year. As a company, we are dedicated to the continuous growth and improvement of our business practices, our employees, and our industry.
We are proud of G.K.’s achievements, and are committed to continuing in his footsteps by moving our own company, and the practice of stone fabrication, in a positive direction for years to come.
